RICHLAND — Energy Northwest’s board of directors have re-elected Clallam County Public Utility District Commissioner Will Purser to a new four-year term on the public power agency’s 11-member executive board.
The executive board sets the policies that govern the operations of the organization. Purser’s new term begins June 17.
Purser has served as Clallam PUD’s District 1 commissioner since April 2001. He was appointed to the Energy Northwest board in April 2008 and was elected to the executive board in June 2010.
He has spent nearly 30 years in the energy industry.
An engineer with graduate studies in nuclear engineering, Purser holds professional engineering licenses in numerous states.
Builder lauded
SEQUIM — Hines Construction Inc. of Sequim and its owner, Jerry Hines, have been recognized by Homes for our Troops and the Building Industry Association of Washington for their role as a “build partner” and leadership during the construction of a home in Port Angeles for Ammon Lang, a disabled Marine Corps veteran.
Hines was given an engraved plaque by Homes by our Troops at a recent North Peninsula Building Association general membership meeting.
Additionally, the state association awarded Hines the 2014 Associate Advisory Council Builder Appreciation Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the building industry.
The specially adapted house, presented to the Lang family at a ceremony in January, was built by the community. More than 100 companies and numerous volunteers donated labor and materials.
Lang lost both of his legs in an IED blast in Sangin, Afghanistan, on June 11, 2011.
Hines Construction Inc. has been a custom builder on the North Olympic Peninsula since 1997.
