SEQUIM — A ribbon-cutting at 12:30 p.m. today (Sunday) will mark the reopening of Olympic Lavender Heritage Farm by owners Marco and Christa Hermosillo.
The ceremony will be at the farm at 1532 Marine Drive north of Sequim.
A farm tour also is planned.
Cake will be available along with other refreshments (today is also the birthday of Christa Hermosillo).
The Hermosillos bought the 19-year-old farm in 2013. They have renovated the boutique store and brought in new lavender products.

PORT ANGELES — Terry McCartney, owner of Everwarm Hearth and Home, 257151 U.S. Highway 101, and general manager Shelby Dumas recently attended a three-day independent retailer conference in Minneapolis.
The theme was “The Mystery of the Budget” and “Succession Planning for the Independent Retailer.”
Seminar topics included solar energy, managing credit and debit cards, marketing, budgeting, technology and sales.

The new hours are from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, from noon to 10 p.m. Saturdays and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.

PORT ANGELES — LaNice Korus has been awarded the 2014 Biz Gehrke Award by the Port Angeles Symphony’s board of directors.
The board recognized Korus for her many contributions to the orchestra over the years.
