PORT ANGELES — Laurie Szczepczynski has been named First Federal Bank’s vice president and business development officer.
Szczepczynski’s duties include a specialized focus on deposit growth and customer relationship building throughout First Federal’s service area.
Szczepczynski, who attended Port Angeles High School and Peninsula College, has been with First Federal for 27 years and in banking for 30 years.
She has served in a variety of roles over the years, most recently as the manager of the east-side branch.
Dining benefit

Grants earmarked
PORT TOWNSEND — In celebration of Jefferson County Community Foundation’s 10th anniversary this year, the foundation will award $10,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations to support the professional development of their volunteer or professional leaders.
Organizations can apply for up to $2,500 to help an individual enroll in a nonprofit management certification or degree program, a mentoring program, a conference or to provide a sabbatical.
Potential applicants are invited to attend a foundation nonprofit alliance workshop, “Breathing New Life into Your Mission: Professional Development Opportunities for Nonprofit Leaders,” at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 1020 Jefferson St., from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 19.
Applications will be available at the workshop and will be posted on the foundation’s website (www.jccfgives.org) by Feb. 20 with an April 15 deadline.
There is no fee for the workshop.

Cardio camp
PORT ANGELES — The Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center and the YMCA of Clallam County have collaborated with Olympic Medical Center to create a community-based cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation transition program called Camp Cardio.
Camp Cardio is available by referral to patients who have been discharged from Olympic Medical Heart Center’s cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs but who may still need a transition program as they learn to manage their health independently, said Leonard Anderson, chronic disease program coordinator.
