PORT TOWNSEND — Washington Sea Grant and Jefferson County Extension will co-sponsor a one-day Coast Guard-approved sea safety and survival/drill instructor class.
The class is slated from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at the Port Townsend Yacht Club, 2601 Washington St.
The session combines lectures and hands-on experience with the safety and survival equipment required on fishing vessels.
Participants will learn about onboard emergency procedures and be trained to develop appropriate emergency drills for their own vessels.
This class is directed to commercial fishermen and is free. Other boaters are welcome to attend for a fee of $100.
