PORT ANGELES — A burglar made off with a package of Red Vines licorice, some ice cream and bottled water after breaking into Deer Park Cinema with a large rock early Thursday morning.
The unidentified man was caught on security cameras throwing the rock through a glass door and then using it to damage candy display cases and a cash register, which contained no money.
An alarm reported the burglary shortly after midnight.
He had left before Clallam County sheriff’s deputies arrived.
Tom Watson, manager of the cinema at 96 Deer Park Lane, said the man also used a hammer to damage one of the cameras.
Watson said the man was wearing a hood and that he didn’t get a good look at his face.
The cinema will remain open during its regular business hours.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office described the burglar as a white male, average height, with a thin build.
He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a light-colored backpack.
Anyone with information on the crime can phone the Sheriff’s Office at 360-417-2459.
