SEQUIM — If it seems as if the entire city is poised for construction — between a major downtown revitalization project and shopping centers proposed for downtown’s edges — the best course of action may be to join in the fun.
The seventh annual Building & Remodeling Expo is set for Saturday and Sunday, treating crowds at Sequim High School to the latest in construction, design, home improvement and even mortgage lending trends.
And the best news of all?
Vendors there won’t care if you’re not a multibillion-dollar corporation like Wal-Mart or The Home Depot, which are planning to build in Sequim within the year.
“I think the nice thing about it is it’s a focused event from the standpoint of those really interested in building, or buying land, but don’t know how to go about it,” said Clair Kirkman, executive officer of the North Peninsula Building Association.
The association is sponsoring the two-day event in both Sequim High School gymnasiums.
“It’s kind of one-stop shopping: contractors, bankers, interior designers and those who can help you outfit your homes,” Kirkman said.
