BRINNON — The Brinnon School District’s levy election was too close to call Tuesday night.
And its possible the election on the proposed two-year $463,041 replacement levy won’t be decided until it’s certified Feb. 14.
As of the end of counting Tuesday, 288 voters, or 59.6 percent, supported the levy and 195, or 40.4 percent, opposed it.
A 60 percent “yes” vote is required for the election to pass.
At 1 p.m. today, elections officials will count 24 remaining absentee ballots, one special ballot, and any other ballots postmarked by Feb. 4 that come in today.
At least 17 of the 25 ballots must be in favor of the levy to swing the initial outcome.
“This one’s too close to call,” County Auditor Donna Eldridge said Tuesday after initial counting finished.
