BRINNON — The Brinnon Food Bank will host a food drive from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Donations of non-perishable food will be accepted at the Brinnon Booster Club, 151 Corey St.
The booster club also will sell raffle tickets for $1 each.
The food bank in Brinnon serves more than 900 clients in 450 families, many of whom would need to choose between food and medicine without the food bank, organizers said.
During the summer, while school is out, the food bank also prepares food bags to replace school breakfasts and lunches for more than 30 local families.
The 33-member volunteer staff donates more than 650 hours and drives over 5,500 miles each month to collect and package the more than 11,000 pounds of food that the organization distributes each month.
Donors who cannot attend the food drive but still wish to support the food bank may send checks to the Brinnon Food Bank, P.O. Box 10, Brinnon, WA 98320.
