Brass Screw Confederacy steampunk festival kicks off today in Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND — The three-day Brass Screw Confederacy, Port Townsend’s steampunk take on the Victorian era, will offer everything from magic to dancing, from fashion to history and from vendors to zombies.

A Victorian boudoir saloon and a masquerade are highlighted today, while Saturday will offer a fashion show and a nighttime hootenanny.

Zombie hunt, dancing

Sunday will be the day for a zombie hunt, followed by traditional English Morris dancing to celebrate vanquishing the zombies.

Tickets of $45 will get ticket-holders into tonight’s saloon, Saturday’s hootenanny, Saturday’s Fashion Show and the Steam Academy lectures at the Pope Marine Building.

Trainee memberships are available for $15 for those ages 13 to 20. This ticket excludes the saloon and hootenanny.

All those younger than 13 are admitted free.
