NEAH BAY — Both lanes of state Highway 112 that blocked access to Neah Bay reopened Thursday evening after state crews and a Port Angeles contractor finished clearing a landslide.
The highway was closed for about 21 hours following the slide last Friday that buried 150 feet of road and blocked access to the Makah tribal reservation.
The state Department of Transportation and the Makah tribe were able to establish one-way, alternating traffic on Saturday.
Bruch & Bruch Construction Inc. of Port Angeles got crews to the remote site on Sunday and began clearing away 3,000 to 4,000 cubic yards of mud, boulders and trees.
