SEQUIM — The Washington State Patrol’s bomb squad trailer will be parked on Second Avenue near the Sequim Community School this morning. State Trooper Keith Nester is scheduled to give a demonstration to students at the Community School, 220 W. Alder St., in which he shows how the bomb-unit robot works to the HiCap, or highly capable, class taught by Bonnie Bless-Boenish from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m..
Bless-Boenish introduced the science of robotics to her fourth- and fifth-graders this month, and Nester’s presentation will show a real-life application, said Annette Hanson, spokeswoman for the Sequim School District.
Hanson issued a written statement Tuesday about today’s demonstration so that Sequim residents wouldn’t be alarmed when they see the State Patrol’s bomb squad vehicle parked near the school. For information, phone 360-582-3264.
