PORT ANGELES — The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct a boating safety class from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
The class will be held on U.S. Coast Guard Base Port Angeles, Ediz Hook Road.
Topics covered will include nautical terminology, rules of the road, boat handling, trailering, legal requirements, equipment and emergency procedures.
Students who successfully complete the 8-hour course will receive a federal boating card and meet the requirements for a Washington Boater Education card.
The course is open to students ages 13 and older.
The class costs $20 per person; additional family members will be admitted for $15 each.
The class is free for active duty military personnel and Coast Guard Auxiliary members.
