PORT ANGELES — Jack Harmon, owner of the Victoria Express II, and two other men pulled the Victoria Express II backward a few hundred feet alongside a dock at the Port Angeles Boat Haven on Thursday.
He said the Port of Port Angeles asked him to move the boat to make room along the dock.
Harmon said that he didn’t want to start the engines because the boat had its exhaust ports plugged up for winter storage, so he and the other men slowly hauled the 200,000-pound boat by hand.
Harmon said that if the weather was windy instead of calm, he would not have attempted to move it manually.
