BLYN — A lack of funding will delay completion of a bridge spanning U.S. Highway 101 as part of the Jimmycomelately Creek restoration project.
Byron Rot, Jamestown S’Klallam tribal habitat biologist, said Thursday that bridge construction probably won’t start until late 2003 or early 2004.
Originally, construction was planned to start this winter and be completed by summer 2003.
According to Rot, about half of the $1 million needed to fund bridge construction has been raised, and the state Department of Transportation is trying to obtain grants for the remainder.
The bridge construction is part of a habitat restoration project designed to improve fish runs in Jimmycomelately Creek.
