SEQUIM — A morning structure fire on the 100 block of Jamestown Road destroyed a 24-foot-by- 36-foot shed and its contents, Fire District 3 officials said.
The family was home at the time of the fire, 6 a.m. Friday, and none were injured, according to the fire district.
Firefighters arrived to find the structure fully engulfed, with flames and embers reaching about 100 feet in the air, district representatives said.
Property difficulties
Crews attacked the fire from the perimeter but the amount of personal contents around the property made it difficult to stretch hose and fight the blaze, Assistant Chief Dan Orr said in a press release.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Friday.
The structure is a total loss and estimated at $10,000, while the shed’s contents were also a total loss, estimated at $5,000.
District 3 requested mutual aid from neighboring Fire District 2 to assist with running other calls.
