FORKS — The North Olympic Library System will kick off its summer reading program with a birdhouse building event at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15.
The workshop will be held at the Forks Library, 171 S. Forks Ave.
Lumber for the project was donated by Angeles Millwork and Hartnagel Building supply and The Country Woodwright cut the lumber to create 300 birdhouse kits for the program.
Library staff and volunteers will help children to construct their own birdhouse to take home.
Children younger than 8 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Hammers will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own, if they have one.
