SEQUIM — Garry Bullock won the grand prize of a plane ride from Sequim to Port Townsend in the BirdFest-BirdQuest game held in conjunction with last weekend’s Olympic BirdFest at the Dungeness River Audubon Center.
The Sequim Merchant Group and the Sequim-Dungeness Chamber of Commerce also announced People’s Choice awards for ceramic sculptures presented in participating retail stores.
The awards went to Elandon Washburn for “Puffin,” displayed at Adagio Bean & Leaf; Kassie Stoddard for “Bird of Paradise,” displayed at Solar City Boutique; and Sydney Balkan for “Blue Jay,” displayed at Purple Haze during the BirdFest-BirdQuest Game.
The art pieces, along with 17 other bird sculptures by Jake Reichner’s Sequim High School ceramics class, will be on display through April 28 at the river center at Railroad Bridge Park, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road in Sequim.
In the free game, participants found bird sculptures displayed in 20 businesses and matched them on game cards.
The drawing was April 9, when People’s Choice winners — all of whom received cash prizes — were announced.
The grand prize is a “birds-eye view of Sequim” plane ride to Port Townsend and back with Emily Westcott, plus one year’s membership to the Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society.
