PORT ANGELES — A bicyclist was taken to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles after he struck a minivan that had not yielded right of way to the bicyclist, the State Patrol said.
Gary N. Koeppe, 66, of Cle Elum was taken to Olympic Medical Center after the 11:09 a.m. Saturday wreck on Brook Avenue at the intersection with U.S. Highway 101. On Sunday, he was not listed as a patient in the hospital.
Amanda L. Erlewine, 44, who failed to yield right of way, was uninjured, the State Patrol said.
Erlewine was driving a 2008 minvan Chevy Uplander southbound on Brook Avenue, turning eastbound onto U.S. Highway 101 when she failed to yield to Koeppe, who was northbound on Brook Avenue, the State Patrol said.
The bicyclist struck the passenger side of the minivan, which had no reportable damage, the State Patrol said.
The State Patrol said that the driver was wearing a seat belt, and the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet.
