Beatles tribute band to play for Captain Joseph House this Tuesday

BLYN — The Beatles tribute band Creme Tangerine will return to the North Olympic Peninsula for a Veterans Day benefit concert at 7 Cedars Casino, 270756 U.S. Highway 101, this Tuesday night.

Tickets to the 7 p.m. show are $10, with proceeds to benefit the nonprofit Captain Joseph House Foundation, the Port Angeles organization supporting the families of deceased military service members.

This event is for patrons 21 or older.

Creme Tangerine, a quintet based in Seattle, has come out to Clallam County many times to give benefit concerts.

The band is known for a repertoire ranging from the Fab Four’s “Come Together,” “Day Tripper” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand” to the hits of Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Stevie Wonder.

“Our shows in Sequim and Port Angeles are some of the best we do all year,” drummer Jeff Lockhart said, adding that he’s honored to play a benefit for Captain Joseph House.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and a brief program will start at 6:45 p.m.

Tickets are available at www.BrownPaperTickets.com and at the casino lobby’s Totem Rewards Club counter.

Veterans Day buffet

The casino also will host a Veterans Day buffet — where veterans dine free — from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Salish Room.

The Captain Joseph House Foundation will staff a table throughout the day to thank veterans for their service and answer questions about Captain Joseph House and its mission.

The house, located near downtown Port Angeles, will be a retreat for up to three families a week, 11 months a year.

Founder Betsy Reed Schultz and her crew are remodeling the house and hope to hold its grand opening on Memorial Day weekend next year.
