The Jefferson County Auditor’s Office has received 3,827 mail-in ballots as of Thursday from the 21,286 ballots sent out on Oct. 19.
The current return rate is at 17.98 percent for the Nov. 8 general election, said county Auditor Donna Eldridge.
Of the ballots returned, 39 ballot affidavits were found to be unsigned or have signatures that can’t be matched to voter registration forms.
Eldridge said those voters will be contacted by phone and letter.
Voters have until 8 p.m. Nov. 8 at return their ballots to the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend. Ballots postmarked by Nov. 8 also will be counted.
