Authorities are looking for a 37-year-old Port Ludlow woman and her 12-year-old daughter after an alleged abduction.
The mother, Sarah J. Barton, was seen on her daughter’s school’s surveillance cameras leaving with the girl, Hannah McVay, on Wednesday, said Clallam County Sheriff Sgt. John Keegan in a prepared statement.
The girls’ whereabouts have been unknown since, he said, adding that the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office checked Barton’s last known address in the Port Ludlow area and learned that she had not been seen there since the previous night.
The school was not identified.
McVay’s father has full custody, Keegan said.
Both mother and daughter are Caucasian, with brown hair and eyes.
Barton is described as being 5-feet-4-inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.
McVay is 5-feet-1-inch tall and weighs 118 pounds.
Barton is believed to be driving a white 1996 Ford Explorer, with a Washington license, ABW2341.
Anyone with information on their location should phone 9-1-1 or contact the closest law enforcement agency, Keegan said.
