Washington on Wheels
Harriet Baskas will present “Washington on Wheels: Odd and Innovative Ideas from the Pacific Northwest” at several North Olympic Library branches.
Baskas will explore the history and culture of travel in the state from dusty trails to canoe journeys to flying cars that actually worked.
The presentation from the Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau is part of the library’s summer reading program.
The lecture will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 11 at the Clallam Bay Library, 16990 state Highway 112, Clallam Bay.
It also will be presented at 6:30 p.m. July 11 at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., Port Angeles.
She also will give her presentation at 6 p.m. Friday, July 12 at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim.
Baskas is the author of “Hidden Treasures: What Museums Can’t or Won’t Show You,” “Washington Icons: 50 Classic Views of the Evergreen State” and “Washington Curiosities: Quirky Characters, Roadside Oddities & Other Offbeat Stuff.”
