CARLSBORG — No one was hurt in a Tuesday attic fire in Carlsborg, said Assistant Chief Dan Orr of Clallam County Fire District 3.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Tuesday, Orr said.
The first crew to arrive found smoke and fire coming from the back of a single-story residence at 50 Bennett Place and upgraded the response to a full structure fire at about 2 p.m., Orr said in a news release.
After gaining entry into the unoccupied home, crews quickly determined that a fire was burning inside the attic, Orr said.
Multiple crews performed an aggressive interior attack using vertical ventilation to contain the fire to the attic, Orr said.
Ceilings were pulled in the living room and kitchen to fight the fire. A section of the roof was removed.
The initial investigation found that the fire started from outside of the home.
The owner of the residence returned home when crews were fighting the fire, Orr said.
A Clallam County Public Utility District crew responded and disconnected power to the home.
