FORKS — Clallam County sheriff’s deputies and Forks police have arrested a 41-year-old man for investigation of two counts of first-degree child molestation.
Isidoro Echeverria Morales, who was arrested Friday, was being held without bail in the Clallam County jail Saturday.
Morales will make his first appearance in Clallam County Superior Court on Monday.
Clallam County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Lyman Moores said Child Protective Services informed Forks police that two children, ages 6 and 7, reported that Morales had molested them.
Children interviewed
After the children were interviewed by forensic child interviewers from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Forks Police Department officers “worked a joint investigation and obtained a search warrant for Morales’ residence, retrieved evidence and arrested Morales without incident,” Moores said.
The Border Patrol also has a detainer on Morales, according to the Clallam County jail roster.
First-degree child molestation, a Class A felony, is defined as sexual contact between an adult who is at least 36 years older than a victim younger than 12 years old.
