SEQUIM — About 60 locals gathered at the intersection of Washington Street and Sequim Avenue in Sequim on Thursday to show their opposition to any future conflict with Iran.
Group members of Indivisible Sequim, Move On, Win Without War and other local activists joined nationwide protests for “No War with Iran” and to impeach President Donald Trump.
One of the event organizers Alex Fane with Indivisible Sequim said the event was organized in the last two days following recent conflict with Iran after a U.S. air strike killed Iran’s Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
Above, Claire Alkire of Sequim holds a sign reading “Truth” and “Hope” that she made more than a year ago advocating for children of illegal immigrants to be reunited with their families.
Alkire said she opposes a war in Iran, and that for her sign “it’s sad it still works.”
