AGNEW — An attempted home invasion eerily similar to one closer to Port Angeles 24 hours before was thwarted early Sunday by a resident who shot at one of the bandits.
The would-be robber fled with two other men in a dark modified car, witnesses told Clallam County sheriff’s deputies.
It was not known if the man was injured, Clallam County Sheriff’s Office Chief Criminal Deputy Ron Cameron said.
Authorities said there is a good chance that the three men who attempted to rob the home on the 300 block of South Barr Road between Port Angeles and Sequim early Sunday were the same men who invaded a Gales Addition home early Saturday and robbed a couple of money and jewelry.
“We are advising the public to address people through locked doors,” Clallam County Sheriff’s Sgt. Randy Pieper said, “when anyone comes to their door requesting any sort of assistance — and call 9-1-1 if the person [or people] requesting assistance are not known.”
Anyone with information is asked to phone the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office at 360-417-2459.
