Peninsula Friends of Animals members said when officials from CBS’s “60 Minutes II” called requesting a copy of their 2004 calendar called “Puss ‘n’ Boots . . . and Fido, Too” they were more than happy to mail them a few.
The calendar, which features 13 Port Angeles and Sequim women posing nude — but tastefully covered with strategically placed boots, props and their pets — may be featured on the national news program Wednesday during a segment about the new movie, “Calendar Girls.”
“Calendar Girls” depicts a story similar to the sacrifices the local women made to raise money for a good cause, said Ann Gilson, vice president of Peninsula Friends of Animals.
“They (“60 Minutes II” officials) called us after searching on the Internet for real calendars similar to the ‘Calendar Girls’ story,” Gilson said.
“We are hopeful we will be featured, and are hoping it will boost sales.”
