. . . And for Clallam, 45,747 ballots to be mailed by Everett mailing house

A total of 45,747 ballots will be sent out to Clallam County voters on Wednesday, said Patty Rosand, county auditor.

But the ballots will not be leaving her office for mailing to registered voters.

The ballots are printed in Everett by K&H Printing, which is a full-service mailing house as well — so the ballots will be mailed from Everett on Wednesday, the earliest day allowed.

“This allows us to get the absolute lowest postage rate,” Rosand said.

Rosand said she hopes for a 70 percent voter turnout in the Nov. 3 election.

“There are two state measures and two local measures and 47 candidate races [in various districts],” Rosand said.

“With school board races and city council races, which are always interesting, and two state measures that have gotten a lot of attention, I think that there is something for everyone to be interested in voting in.”

The ballots must be returned to the Clallam County Auditor’s office by Nov. 3.

If a registered voter doesn’t receive his or her ballot by Monday, he or she should phone Rosand’s office at 360-417-2221 or toll-free for West End voters, 866-433-8683.

Those who have not registered in the state to vote have until Oct. 26 to do so, Rosand said.

Change of addresses within Washington state may be done only in person at the Auditor’s Office, 223 E. Fourth St., Rosand said.

“At this point we would need to issue a replacement ballot, because if a voter hasn’t changed their address by now there is already a ballot prepared for them at this point,” Rosand said.

In addition to sending by mail, ballots may also be deposited in an official drop box at these locations:

• In the auditor’s office in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

• Outside the courthouse on the semi-circular driveway on Fourth Street.

•At Sequim Vehicle/Vessel Licensing, 1001 E. Washington St., Suite, Sequim.

• In the lobby of Forks District Court, 502 E. Division St., Forks.
