Alleged Port Angeles meth dealer arrested; detectives say they found more than a pound of the drug

PORT ANGELES — Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team officials say a Port Angeles man arrested for investigation of selling methamphetamine had more than a pound of meth in his apartment.

The meth has a street value of as much as $60,000, authorities said.

Scott Shawn Clark, 48, was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Clallam County jail for investigation of two counts of delivery of methamphetamine.

He posted a $5,000 bail bond Thursday.

Formal charges are expected to be filed Monday in Clallam County Superior Court.

OPNET Supervisor Sean Madison said the street value of a pound of meth is between $50,000 and $60,000.

“This was a good day for us,” Madison said.

OPNET officials allege that Clark sold 8.9 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant for $200 on July 28 and 8.1 grams for $200 on Aug. 4, according to the arrest narrative.

Detectives arrested him at his Port Angeles residence, Madison said.

Clark led authorities to his bedroom, where he had more than a pound of methamphetamine and $3,098 in cash from drug sales, court papers said.
