BRINNON — A Puget Sound-area woman has been arrested for investigation of drunken driving following a wreck near here Sunday afternoon, the State Patrol reported Monday.
Cassandra Kiesz, 36, of the Seattle suburb of Des Moines was driving a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo southbound on U.S. Highway 101 about 2 miles south of Brinnon about 5:30 p.m. when the car failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into a utility poll, troopers said.
Kiesz and her passenger, Diane Henry, 55, of Brinnon, who were not wearing seat belts, were attended by paramedics.
It was unknown which hospital they were transported to, and their conditions were unavailable Monday night.
Kiesz suffered internal bleeding, head trauma and other cuts, the State Patrol reported from the scene of the wreck.
A third passenger Meagan Dockter, 36, was reportedly uninjured. Troopers said Dockter was wearing her seat belt.
Kiesz was arrested for investigation of driving while intoxicated and vehicular assault.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the highway was partially blocked for about a half hour, the State Patrol said.
