AGNEW — A 25-year-old man was arrested Friday night after a standoff between the man and law enforcement officers lasted more than two hours.
Kenneth S. Johnson Jr. surrendered peacefully and was arrested on a felony warrant for investigation of unlawfully possessing a firearm, Clallam County Sheriff’s Capt. Ron Cameron said.
Cameron said the incident started when officers received an anonymous report that a man had displayed a handgun during an argument at a Dryke Road residence, between Port Angeles and Sequim.
Johnson and a 15-year-old girl left the residence before deputies arrived.
A Washington State Patrol trooper who was assisting deputies found Johnson’s vehicle at a nearby residence on Madera Place.

When deputies and troopers phoned the residence asking everyone to come out, the girl and the person who lived there exited, but Johnson stayed inside, Cameron said.
After numerous unanswered calls from deputies into the house, and with assistance from Johnson’s friends, Johnson spoke with Deputy Jim McLaughlin by phone and agreed to surrender, Cameron said.
He was arrested and taken to the Clallam County jail.
Investigators served a search warrant on the home and found a handgun believed to be Johnson’s, Cameron said.
Deputies are continuing their investigation.
