SEATTLE — The Forks phenomenon Twilight will be the focus of a fan convention in Seattle this weekend.
Although no North Olympic Peninsula fans are planned speakers at the event, the hoards of followers known as “Twi-hards” will attend to study the story that takes place on the West End, according to Creation Entertainment, which produces the event.
The conference, which runs Saturday and Sunday at the Westin Hotel, 1900 Fifth Ave., will feature actors in the show as well as the fan parody group, the Hillywood Show, and a ball fit for vampires.
The tale of Twilight involves Forks teen Bella Swan and her two suitors — Edward Cullen, a vampire, and Jacob Black, a werewolf.
Although none of the filming was done on the North Olympic Peninsula, most of the movie takes place in Forks and the area around it along with pivotal scenes in Port Angeles and Seattle.
The convention will feature actors Booboo Stewart and Tyson Houseman, who play members of the pack of werewolves, the convention website said.
Actresses Tinsel Korey, who plays Emily Young, and Julia Jones, who portrays Leah Clearwater, will also attend the convention, according to the website.
Both Korey and Jones have made prior appearances in LaPush.
Tickets for the convention range from $20, for basic admission to look around both days but not including the ball, to $229, for autographs and photos and admission to all parts of the conference.
