PORT ANGELES — Clallam County 4-H will offer several classes for youth this month.
Preregistration is required for both classes.
A “4-H Pickle Making Day” with instructor Betsy Wharton of Clallam Canning Company will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 7. Participants will be told where the class will be when they register, said Jenny Schmidt, 4-H program coordinator.
The cost of the pickle-making class is $10.
Participants will have the opportunity to enter the pickles they make in the Clallam County Fair.
A “4-H Floral Design Class” with the WSU Master Gardeners will be offered free from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug 10 and Aug. 15 at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden in Sequim.
The class is open to youth from the age of 5 to 18.
Participants will learn about flower varieties and tips and tricks for floral design. Youth will create up to three floral arrangements to enter in the Clallam County Fair.
Youth do not need to be previously enrolled in 4-H to participate.
