3RD UPDATE — Suspect in Carlsborg stabbing turns himself in following search for ‘armed and dangerous’ man

PORT ANGELES — A suspect in the stabbing of a Carlsborg woman turned himself in today at the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office following a manhunt that spanned two days.

Deeon Emilio Gonzales, 20, of Carlsborg turned himself in at about 11:45 a.m. today, said Sgt. Eric Munger of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 1:45 p.m. today, Gonzales was booked into the Clallam County jail for investigation of attempted murder in the stabbing of the mother of his child outside his residence at around 4:20 p.m. Saturday, Munger said.

Gonzales arrived at the Sheriff’s Office with his mother, he said.

Munger said neither the name of the victim nor her current medical condition were immediately available to him.

Olympic Medical Center, where the victim was taken, does not release conditions of patients unless their name is known.

On Saturday, an 8-hour search for Gonzales was conducted by deputies, officers of the Sequim Police Department and members of the United States Border Patrol.

Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies were called Saturday to a stabbing in the alley between Streit and Carlsborg roads, just south of Spath Road in Carlsborg.

The Sheriff’s Office released the following report on the stabbing:

Witnesses reported that they noticed Gonzales in the alley with the victim.

During the confrontation between Gonzales and the victim, witnesses said the couple passed their child back and forth between them.

The witness looked away then looked back when they heard the victim scream.

They saw the victim on the ground and Gonzales holding the baby while he was stabbing the victim several times.

Gonzales was observed fleeing toward his residence adjacent to the crime scene.

Deputies located the child at the residence, and the child did not appear to be injured.

The victim was transported to Olympic Medical Center.

CARLSBORG — Police continued to search this morning for a suspect in a stabbing after an eight-hour manhunt failed to locate Deeon Emilio Gonzales on Saturday night.

Gonzales, 20, of Carlsborg is being sought for investigation of the stabbing of the mother of his child outside his residence at around 4:20 p.m. Saturday.

As of this morning, Gonzales’s location was still unknown, said Sgt. Eric Munger of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.

Gonzales is described as a Hispanic male about 5 feet, 7 inches tall weighing roughly 135 pounds.

He is considered armed and dangerous by authorities.

Anyone with information about Gonzales’ whereabouts is urged to call 9-1-1.

Gonzales is well established in the community, but also has connections elsewhere, Munger said.

A search for Gonzales was conducted by deputies, officers of the Sequim Police Department and members of the United States Border Patrol.

“They continued the search until about 12:30 a.m. Sunday,” Munger said.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released the name of the victim, who was taken to Olympic Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries.

Olympic Medical Center does not release conditions of patients unless their name is known.

On [Saturday] September 20, 2014, at around 4:20 p.m., deputies were called to a stabbing in the alley between Streit Road and Carlsborg Road just south of Spath Road [in the Carlsborg area].

Witnesses reported that they noticed Deeon Emilio Gonzales in the alley with the victim.

The victim was holding the child that she and Gonzales have in common. The witness looked away then looked back when they heard the victim scream.

They saw the victim on the ground, Gonzales holding the baby while he was stabbing the victim several times.

Gonzales was observed fleeing towards his residence that is adjacent to the crime scene. The child was located at the residence and did not appear to be injured.

The victim was transported to Olympic Medical Center for treatment. Her condition is unknown at this time.

A search for Gonzales was conducted by deputies, officers of the Sequim Police Department and members of the United States Border Patrol. He was not located at this time.

Gonzales is a 20-year-old Hispanic male, about 5’7” tall and weighing about 135 pounds.
