SEQUIM — An election forum featuring candidates for Clallam County commissioner and Olympic Medical Center commissioner was held on Thursday evening (Oct. 6) at Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course, 1965 Woodcock Road.
Sponsored by Peninsula Young Professional Network and Peninsula Daily News, it featured questions posed to the candidates by PYPN co-chair Brian Kuh and PDN Senior Staff Writer/Commentary Co-editor Paul Gottlieb.
Candidates were asked to focus on the concerns of younger residents who are trying to build a future on the North Olympic Peninsula, including young workers and families, Young Professionals co-chair and forum moderator Matthew Randazzo said.
Randazzo is also the chair of the Clallam County Democratic Party. (These videos were recorded by his wife, Melissa Randazzo)
Taking part in the forum were Republican Jim McEntire, 60, vying for county commissioner against Democrat Linda Barnfather, 48; hospital commissioner incumbent John Nutter, 40, running against Jeanne M. LaBrecque, ; and hospital commissioner incumbent John Miles, 81, running against Jack Slowriver, 34.
There were also short presentations at the forum from Port Angeles City Council and Sequim City Council candidates.
