A storm moving through Seattle and the Puget Sound brought hail, lightning and rain late Wednesday morning.
On the North Olympic Peninsula, very light rain fell in scattered areas before noon. The sun and dry weather were back in force by 1 p.m.
Seattle City Light reported at noon that just over 5,600 customers were without power.Since then, outages — confirmed to be from lightning strikes — are affecting more than 1,800 customers.
WSDOT traffic reported the thunderstorm caused traffic to come to a crawl on the Interstate 90 floating bridges.
Storms cleared the Seattle area around 12:40 p.m.
Meteorologist Morgan Palmer reports the Seattle rain total with Wednesday’s storm is .30″ — the most rain in a single day for Seattle since April 13.
