21 candidates for Clallam offices on first day of filing

Twenty-one candidates filed for offices ranging from Superior Court judge to fire district commissioner in Clallam County in the first day of candidate sign-ups Monday.

The filing period continues from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day through Friday.

In contested races, the order in which candidates’ names will appear on the ballot will be determined by lot at the close of filing Friday.

Offices for which people filed Monday and their candidates include:

  • Port Angeles City Council, Position 6: Peter J. Ripley.

  • Port Angeles City Council, Position 7: Cherie Kidd.

  • Forks City Council, Position 1: John W. Leppell.

  • Forks City Council, Position 4: Bryon Monohon, incumbent.

  • Sequim City Council, Position 5: Bob Anundson, incumbent.

  • Sequim City Council, Position 6: Ron Farquhar, incumbent.

  • Sequim City Council, Position 7: Susan Lorenzen.

  • Superior Court Judge, Position 3: Brooke Taylor, Curtis G. Johnson, Craig L. Miller.

  • Fire District 4, Position 3: George Oldfield, incumbent.

  • Hospital District 2 (Olympic Medical Center): Jean C. Hordyk, incumbent.

  • Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center (SARC) Commission, Position 3: Melinda E. Griffith, incumbent.

  • SARC, Position 4: Jan L. Richardson, Annette J. Kubb.

  • SARC, Position 5: Erika Starks, incumbent.

  • Port of Port Angeles Commission, Position 1: Bill Hannan, incumbent.

  • Port Angeles School Board, Position 3: Patti Happe, incumbent.

  • Port Angeles School Board, Position 4: Lonnie Linn.

  • Sequim School Board, District 2: Virginia O’Neil, incumbent.
