PORT HADLOCK — A $2.2 million project at Naval Magazine Indian Island is part of $9.2 billion recently approved by a U.S. House of Representatives appropriations panel for construction projects at U.S. military bases worldwide.
The $2.2 million is to build an “ordnance transfer facility”‘ in fiscal year 2004.
A temporary holding area is needed at Indian Island for the delivery of certain weapons, the Navy said, without elaboration.
