13 more file for Clallam election

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County ballot is quickly filling up.

Thirteen new candidates filed on Wednesday for the Nov. 3 election.

As of Wednesday, 43 were running for 51 public offices subject to election. The filing week ends at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Candidates can file in the Clallam County Auditor’s Office in the Clallam County courthouse, 223 W. Fourth Ave.

So far, there are six contested races with one — a Port Angeles City Council seat — headed for a primary.

If more than two candidates file for a position, a primary election will be held Aug. 18. The top two candidates advance to the general election.

If no candidate runs for a position, a special filing period will open June 10-12.
