Childhood experience overseas inspires local dentist to create and share innovative dental technology

New patented technology offers game-changing alternative to dentures

When Dr. Helena Soomer-Lincoln, a Bainbridge Island dentist and founder of Fairy Tale Dental, reflects on her childhood in Soviet-era Estonia, she remembers her father’s quiet optimism.

“He would always tell me, ‘Estonia will be independent one day.’ And then, in 1991, I witnessed the revolution. I saw Russian tanks turn away. That moment gave me a sense of hope and purpose that has stayed with me,” she says.

Today, that same determination fuels her mission to share TruBridgeTM, a groundbreaking alternative to traditional dentures. The patented innovation, developed during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, provides a teeth-only full arch dental bridge that eliminates the need for invasive surgery or bulky prosthetics.

“This is my calling,” says Dr. Soomer-Lincoln. “It’s urgent. Millions of people need better options.”

A new era in dental restoration

Unlike conventional dentures or implants, TruBridge preserves bone and soft tissue, ensuring a more natural fit and feel. The process begins with a digital scan to create a precise plan for the restoration.

Subsequent appointments involve a minimally invasive surgery, implant placement, and the final fitting of the bridge – crafted using advanced 3D printing, milling, and sintering techniques.

“TruBridge is designed to align with the natural anatomy of the mouth,” Dr. Soomer-Lincoln explains. “There’s no need for cutting tissue, and the result is a strong, durable bridge that feels and functions like real teeth.”

The procedure’s simplicity allows general dentists to offer it in standard clinics, broadening access for patients. “It’s better for the patient and the dentist. TruBridge restores form and function while being gentle on the body,” she says.

Building a global community

Dr. Soomer-Lincoln is teaching an online masterclass to help other dentists adopt TruBridge. “I’m biking to local offices, sending emails and connecting through social media. This ripple effect is essential to reaching more patients,” she says.

The curriculum, which combines theory and hands-on training, guides dentists through the entire process. “We’re working hard to make this accessible. The human body is miraculous in its ability to regenerate tissue. TruBridge harnesses that ability,” she says.

“This is about giving people options and dignity. It’s critical to me.”

To celebrate the launch, Fairy Tale Dental is offering a special New Year promotion: For $6,999, patients can receive a full upper or lower TruBridge restoration. The offer, titled “New year, new smile!” runs through to Jan. 31.
