WEEKEND: Second-story tours set Saturday

PORT ANGELES — Things will be looking up in downtown Port Angeles during the third annual Second Story Story on Saturday.

Participants in the tour of the second floors of five downtown buildings will meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Conrad Dyar Memorial Fountain at Laurel and First streets.

The tour will run from 10 a.m. to noon.

“Anyone looking for a second-floor space for business or a residence, or just plain curious, should take the tour,” said Barbara Frederick, executive director of the Port Angeles Downtown Association, which is hosting the tour.

The five spaces on the tour include two that were first featured last year:

■ Studio Bob, 1181/2 E. Front St.

■ A private residence of Catherine and Tom Harper, which is above InSpired at 124 W. First St.

The new spaces include a twist to the second-story theme: White Crane Martial Arts, 129 W. First, located entirely underground.

Other venues

The other two are:

■ The Downtown Hotel, 1011/2 E. Front St.

■ Heidi’s Hair Studio, 211 W. First St., above Aglazing Art.

Serving as guides are Deputy Mayor Brad Collins; downtown association board members Jan Harbick, Bob Lumens and Charlie Smith; Frederick; and Clallam County Historical Society Executive Director Kathy Monds.

The Port Angeles Downtown Association won an Excellence on Main Street award in 2011 from the Washington State Main Street program for the Second Story Story tour.
