WEEKEND: RainFest fills Forks weekend

RAINFEST EVENTS ARE scheduled throughout the weekend in Forks.

Today

■ 8 a.m. to noon — Crumb quilting class taught by Michele Crawford, First Baptist Church, 651 S. Forks Ave.; $40.

■ Noon to 5 p.m. — West End Art League Art Show and demonstrations; Almar Building, 168 S. Forks Ave.

■ Noon to 5 p.m. — American Hero Quilts display at Peninsula College Forks Extension, 71 S. Forks Ave.

■ Noon to 6 p.m. — “Fabrics of the Forest” quilt show and vendors, Forks High School auxiliary gym, 261 S. Spartan Ave. Admission by donation.

■ Noon to 6 p.m. — “The Supper” quilt display, First Congregational Church, 280 S. Spartan Ave. Admission by donation.

■ 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. — Mystery Charm pack class taught by Crawford, First Baptist Church; $40.

■ 6:30 p.m. — Chris Cook, editor of the Forks Forum, will discuss the 1808 SV Nikolai expedition at JT’s Sweet Stuffs, 120 S. Forks Ave.

■ 7 p.m. — The film “Inuk” will be screened at Peninsula College Forks Extension free of charge; co-sponsored by the Port Townsend Film Institute and Peninsula College.

■ 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. — “Just Cut the Scrap” lecture by Crawford with display of her quilts at First Baptist Church; $15 at the door.

Saturday

■ 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Calypso quilt class taught by Crawford at First Baptist Church; $75.

■ 10 a.m. to noon — Umbrella-Decorating workshop, Peninsula College Forks Extension.

■ 10 a.m. to noon — Clallam County Literacy Book Giveaway & Book Marker Making, Peninsula College Forks Extension.

■ 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — “Fabrics of the Forest” quilt show and vendors, Forks High School auxiliary gym. Admission by donation.

■ 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Viewing of “The Supper” quilt at First Congregational Church. Admission by donation.

■ 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. — American Hero Quilts exhibit, Peninsula College Forks Extension. Admission by donation.

■ 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Relay For Life fundraiser for “Joan’s Team”: Pie Social at Peninsula College Forks Extension.

■ Noon to 4 p.m. — West End Arts League Art Show and demonstrations; Almar Building.

■ Noon — Umbrella Parade following the Umbrella-Decorating workshop. It will start and end behind Peninsula College Forks Extension.

■ Noon to 5 p.m. — American Hero Quilts viewing, Peninsula College Forks Extension. Admission by donation.

■ 1 p.m. — The legendary Minnie Peterson PowerPoint Presentation at Peninsula College Forks Extension, presented by Glynda Schaad, featuring vignettes from her book The High Divide.

■ 7:30 p.m. — Readers Theater presents “American Hero Quilts, The Story;” $12 per person or $20 for two.

Sunday

■ Noon to 4 p.m. — “Fabrics of the Forest” quilt show and vendors, Forks High School auxiliary gym. Admission by donation.

■ Noon to 4 p.m. — “The Supper” quilt display, First Congregational Church. Admission by donation.

■ 12:30 p.m. — Supper quilt lecture by creator Donald E. Locke, First Congregational Church. Admission by donation.

■ Noon to 4 p.m. — American Hero Quilts viewing, Peninsula College Forks Extension. Admission by donation.
