WEEKEND: Port Angeles motorcycle poker run to benefit Healthy Families

PORT ANGELES — The American Legion Riders Post 29 is hosting a motorcycle poker run Saturday.

The run will start at Olympic Powersports at 221 S. Peabody St., with registration between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., and finish at the Clallam County Veterans Center, 216 S. Francis St., by 3:30 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded at 4 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit Healthy Families of Clallam County, which provides child abuse prevention and treatment services, parenting classes, support groups, crisis intervention and other services.

The cost is $10 per poker hand and all riders and passengers must have at least one hand.

More than $12,000 worth of prizes will be awarded.

They include a load of gravel from Angeles Concrete Products, a $400 gift certificate for Weider Chiropractic Clinic and gift certificates for Frugals and Subway.

The poker run will travel a 121-mile route to the west side of the Hood Canal Bridge into Port Townsend and back.

Hot dogs, chili and sodas will be served after the ride.
