SEQUIM — Feel like a walk in the woods or a visit to an art gallery?
You can do both starting today with Art in the Park, a weekend full of art displays, demonstrations and make-and-take crafts.
The place is the Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road.
Admission is free.
Art in the Park’s art show features 29 works by local artists, from photography to driftwood sculpture.
Every piece is for sale.
The show is open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Come Saturday, Art in the Park blooms bigger as a dozen artists give demonstrations — of watercolor painting, collage making and other techniques.
Kathy Bachman plans a jewelry construction demo, and Judy Priest will discuss and demonstrate watercolors and collage.
The demonstrations go on through Sunday along with make-and-take craft activities for children and their grown-ups.
In addition, Lou Peterson will have his Adirondack chairs for sale, with proceeds to benefit the River Center.
Verna Parker will blow big, iridescent soap bubbles as she has done at past Railroad Bridge Park parties — and show her multihued origami.
A portion of the art sales proceeds from Art in the Park benefit the Dungeness River Audubon Center, which hosts bird walks, field trips and other activities year-round.
