SEQUIM — The Clallam County Master Gardeners will offer more than 2,000 plants for sale Saturday.
The group’s annual plant sale will be from 9 a.m. to noon at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road.
Any plants left over after the main plant sale will be sold at half-price at the Demonstration Garden from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday.
Supplies and books
Along with plants, the Master Gardeners will sell a variety of garden supplies and books.
A new addition this year is the sale of cedar raised planting beds.
The beds are constructed of specially milled cedar and come in two sizes: 4-foot-by-10-foot-by beds for $200 and 4-foot-by-6-foot beds for $150.
The planters are approximately 12 inches tall.
Planting beds can be ordered during the hours of the sale or can be preordered by coming to the Demonstration Garden today.
The planting beds are fully assembled and have an attached screen on the bottom to deter voles and moles.
“We are growing vegetables in these planters here at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden and donating the expected bounty to the local food bank,” said Bob Cain, a Master Gardener who constructed the raised cedar beds.
Proceeds from the plant sale help support the educational activities of the Master Gardeners, including plant clinics, workshops, lectures and training.
