Holiday boat parades
PORT ANGELES — The first of three holiday-light boat parades is planned Saturday.
Boats will depart from the Port Angeles Boat Haven entrance near the Port Angeles Yacht Club at 6 p.m. and proceed easterly along the city shoreline as far as Olympic Medical Center and back to the marina.
Other Port Angeles Yacht Club Christmas Season Lighted Boat Parades will be held Dec. 1 and 15 — all leaving from the same point at the same time.
The round-trip route takes about 45 minutes to one hour.
All parades are weather-dependent.
No parade will be held in stormy conditions or fog.

Photos with Santa
PORT ANGELES — The Olympic Medical Center Foundation and Necessities & Temptations gift shop have combined to offer photos with Santa on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 23.
Children or families can pose with Santa at Necessities & Temptations, 217 N. Laurel St., and immediately be able to buy and pick up photo and Christmas card packages at the store.
Photo packages range from $6 to $37, while Christmas card packages start at 20 cards for $15.
Santa will be available from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and from noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.
The lone exception is today, when post-Thanksgiving shoppers can snap photos with Santa from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
All proceeds will go to the Olympic Medical Center Foundation.
SEQUIM
Help soccer team
SEQUIM — A benefit car wash supporting the Storm King Soccer Club’s Boys 97 (U-15) team is planned from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The car wash benefit will be in the parking lot of Tarcisio’s Restaurant, 609 W. Washington St.
Proceeds will go toward rental fees for games in January on the artificial turf surface at Peninsula College’s Wally Sigmar Field.
Team members from Port Angeles and Sequim are competing for the state Challenge Cup, a premier-level soccer competition.
Down-home bazaar
SEQUIM — The annual Sequim High School Band Boosters’ Down Home Holiday Bazaar will be held in the Sequim High School cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
More than 40 vendors will offer locally handcrafted clothing, jewelry, hats, bags, musical instruments, wooden toys, artwork, stationary gifts, home decor, lavender products and cookies.
Proceeds will support participation and travel fees for Sequim High School Band events throughout the year.
These fees and costs are not covered by the Sequim School District.
Every year, the Band Boosters, composed of band parents, guardians and friends, raise money to cover these costs.
The band can then perform at events such as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in Seattle, Husky Band Day at Husky Stadium in Victoria and every other year at the Heritage Festival in Anaheim, Calif., and Disneyland.
The band will perform in Anaheim in the spring.

SEQUIM — The Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center, or SARC, will offer 25 percent off general admission from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.
General admission is normally $8 for ages 16 and older, $4 for juniors ages 8-14 and $2 for ages 3-7.

Basket-weaving, stories
BLYN — A basket-weaving and storytelling event will be held at the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Center, 1033 Old Blyn Highway, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
It will feature master storytellers and master weavers.
The free event is open to the public.
Attendees are asked to bring a lunch.
A variety of basket-weaving kits will be available for sale at the event.

Holiday arts, crafts
PORT TOWNSEND — The 22nd annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair will be held at the Port Townsend Community Center, 620 Tyler St., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday.
The fair features handwoven items, gold and silver jewelry set with semiprecious gems, leather bags and belts, photography, silver chainwork, sculptural jewelry, knives, a selection of pottery, enameled artwork, a variety of woodwork, sweaters, fleece clothing, purses, skirts, watercolors, lampworked beads, hand-blown vases and paperweights, and more on both floors of the community center.
In addition to the artwork, local student musicians will perform downstairs.
The show is presented by the Port Townsend Arts Guild, a nonprofit arts guild offering art scholarships to Jefferson County students.
The artists donate a portion of each sale to the Jefferson County Food Bank, as they have done for the past 20 years.

Holiday craft, gift fair
QUILCENE — The fifth annual Holiday Craft & Gift Fair is planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Quilcene Community Center.
The fundraiser at the center at 294952 U.S. Highway 101 will benefit the Jefferson County Food Bank.
Baked goods, wooden toys, yard art, collectibles, hand-crafted holiday cards, art and home furnishings await.
Santa photos also will be available.
Comic Book Swap Meet
PORT TOWNSEND — A free Comic Book Swap Meet from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. will be followed by a talk by Robert Horton on Sunday.
The swap meet will be at 1300 Water St.
Horton is the co-author of Rotten Comic’s The Lost Diary of John J. Flynn, United States Agent.
Old-time fiddlers
CHIMACUM — The Washington Old Time Fiddlers will play live music at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road, on Saturday.
An all-players jam will be held at 11:30 a.m., with a performance from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The events are free and open to the public.
Donations will be accepted and support youth fiddle scholarships.

Open & decorated
PORT TOWNSEND — The Commanding Officer’s Quarters at Fort Worden State Park will be open and decorated for visitors Thanksgiving weekend and during the week following Christmas.
Managed by the Jefferson County Historical Society, the house will be open from noon until 5 p.m. today through Sunday and again Dec. 26-31.
Guests can experience the Edwardian grandeur of the 1904 home complete with turn-of-the-last-century holiday decorations.
A state Discover Pass is not required to visit the Commanding Officer’s Quarters.
