Uptown Street Fair to celebrate Port Townsend neighborhood Saturday

The local fair will take over two Port Townsend streets with live music, food and children’s activities

PORT TOWNSEND — Uptown Street Fair — featuring live music, entertainment and a parade — returns to Port Townsend Saturday.

It will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The fair includes local music, the Port Townsend Arts &Crafts Fair, the Jefferson County Farmers’ Market, tasty food on the street and free art activities for families.

The Arts and Crafts Fair is located at the intersection of Tyler and Lawrence streets. Both streets are closed to motor vehicle traffic during the fair.

Children’s activities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with music from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Port Townsend Farmers Market is located one block away on Polk Street.

During the festivities, The Uptown Pub, 1016 Lawrence St., is hosting an outdoor beer garden.

The Grandly Local Parade — promised to be both short and colorful — begins at 2 p.m. Lineup will be at the East Jefferson Fire-Rescue station.

Entries cannot be politically or religiously themed.

Awards recognizing the best entries will be presented immediately following the parade.

The original trophies were created by Jeanne Moore, owner of Potpourri NW Interiors, and her creative crew, according to a news release.

Here is the schedule:

9 a.m. – 5 p.m. — Port Townsend Arts Guild Arts &Crafts Fair on Tyler Street, Port Townsend Farmers Market on Polk Street and food vendors on Lawrence Street.

10 am to 3 p.m. — Art activities for children of all ages.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Live Music featuring local talent.

10 a.m. to 11 a.m. — Douglas Francisco and The Shaky Barbers.

11 a.m. to noon — Port Townsend Summer Band.

Noon to 1 p.m. — Pies on the Run.

1 p.m. to 2 p.m. — Dream City.

2:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. — Forrest Brennan, Kiwanis Stars of Tomorrow participant.

2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. — Belly Dancers and Fire Arts Performance.

3:30 to 4:45 p.m. — 3 Chords and the Truth.

2 p.m. — Grandly Local Parade.

The Uptown Street Fair is coordinated by the Port Townsend Main Street Program, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
