PORT TOWNSEND — The University Women’s Foundation of East Jefferson County recently awarded more than $64,000 in scholarships to local women.
The recipients are:
• Aria Turner — Elmira K. Beyer Endowed Scholarship, $11,000.
• Leianna Kunz —Academic Endowed Scholarship, $8,500.
• Melanie Bakin — Lisa T. Painter Endowed Scholarship, $6,700.
• Rachel Banks, Estelle Jorgensen, Holly Snider, Rowan Sharp, Lacey Bishop and Myka Briggs — scholarships based on Lisa T. Painter criteria, from $500 to $100 each.
• Emma Liliana “Lily” O’Shea — Constance Anna Pash Memorial Endowed Scholarship, $4,500.
• Ella Ashford — Environmental Scholarship, $3,000.
• Alona Woodward — Technical Career Scholarship, $5,000.
• Emily Perkins — Technical Career Scholarship, $4,550.
• Sorina “Soso” Johnston — Port Townsend; Aleina Mitchel, Quilcene; and Hailey Haralson, Chimacum — High School scholarships, $4,000 each.
• Former high school scholarship recipients Anika Avelina, Madison Coffey and Rachel Matthes — Sophomore Assistance Scholarships, $1,000 each.
• High School STEM awards, $100 each:
Port Townsend High School: Willow Bennett, Hailey Gallagher and Cristal Gomez-Cervantes.
Chimacum High School: Tiffany, Madison Burgess and Robyn Weaver.
Quilcene High School: Natalie Lont, Stormie Elkins and Olivia Benson.
