Two queens named for Clallam County Fair

This court can boast of two ruling figures.

Clallam County Fair representatives have announced there will be two queens presiding over the fair’s activities in 2021, with 2020 fair queen Anna Menkal of Port Angeles joining the newly crowned 2021 fair queen, Rebekah Parker of Sequim.

Parker, a princess for the 2019 county fair, is a senior at Sequim High School and Olympic Peninsula Academy. Her parents are Chris and LeAnn Parker, and her sponsors are Kids Kampus Preschool and Daycare, Puget Sound Transfer, Atlas Management, Inc., Sound Moving and Storage, and Seth and Cheri Esterby.

After graduation, Parker, 17, plans to pursue a degree in early childhood development with a minor in multimedia.

Menkal, 17, is a senior at Port Angeles High School. She is sponsored by Brian’s Sporting Goods, D.A. Davidson and by her grandparents, Mike and Zoe Hansen. Her parents are Steve and Valerie Menkal.

Menkal’s future education plans are to attend Peninsula College and become a paramedic/EMT.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Clallam County Fair was canceled — as were all county fairs in the state.

The 2021 Clallam County Fair’s theme is “Blue Ribbon Dreams in Boots and Jeans.”
