The newest book in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga — Breaking Dawn — will be released Saturday — and several stores are opening the first minute of the day.
Area stores are revving up with Friday midnight openings and parties.
Forks stores opening at midnight to sell the books include the Fern Gallery and Chinook Pharmacy.
Although fans can get the books at most bookstores across the nation, getting it in Forks is something special, said Jo Ann Allen, owner of Fern Gallery.
“We’ll also open up at dawn on Saturday to celebrate Breaking Dawn,” Allen said.
The sun is expected to rise at about 5:50 a.m. Saturday.
The store is required to keep its stock of books sealed until the clock strikes 12:01 a.m., she said.

“It will be a lot of fun,” said Peggy King, pharmacy assistant.
“We’ll, of course, have all of our T-shirts and other merchandise available, too.”

The store carries Twilight-inspired memorabilia, such as T-shirts designed for the occasion.
The store is a highlight on the Twilight Tours offered by the Forks Chamber of Commerce.
Store employees have seen many people checking out where Bella regularly shopped in the book, said Marcia Bingham, Forks Chamber of Commerce executive director.
The store will not have a midnight party but will have the book ready the next day.
